Emma Lucetted cord.  Sewed garb for the War (two chemises and two smocks.  Cut out an Italian Renaissance gown (ooohh!).   At Pennsic, manned the Arts and Sciences tent.   Also attended the fingerloop braiding class.  Learned to make flat braid, square braid, spiral braid, and braid with holes.   While at the War, made a cord for Demelza's birthday present.  Planned bobbin lace for the edge of a coif.   Studied the "New Model Book" (a 16th century pattern book) and figured out how to make the piece with 3 pairs of bobbins.   Did a little cross stitch.   Worked on projects on her belt loom.  Dyeing at guild dye workshops in July and September.
Ellencwen Dyed at the Gwyntarian Weavers Guild dye day and at the Cuyahoga Spinners Guild dye day.  Warped up the guild tartan project and wove some.   Spun some of Ramesh's fleece;  spinning soy silk.  Worked on fox-proofing and hawk-proofing for her chickens.   Demonstrated fiber arts at the Canfield Fair.

Miscellania

By tumultuous and unanimous acclaim (no one else volunteered), Ceinwyn was re-elected guildmistress and Branwyn serves another term as scribe.
Branwyn shared a flyer from Cleveland Museum of Art about the exhibit of renaissance ecclesiastical textiles.   Diachbha offered to drive the huge van to CMA, so a fieldtrip is planned for the November meeting.
The Ohio Mart demo at Stan Hwyet is next month.   Emma, Diachbha, and Hathewisse are signed up.   More textile arts demonstrators are needed;  please contact Katarina Peregrine.
In January, Diachbha will be using the computerized loom at Kent State.   If the group is interested, we could meet in Kent for a demonstration.
Ellencwen will be in Vienna in the first week of November and asked for sight-seeing suggestions.  Branwyn asked if anyone knew the current location of the lake-dweller textiles, excavated before WWII.
Diachbha opened a discussion of the guild hierarchy (apprentice, journeyman, master).   She plans to present works meeting the criteria specified in the charter.
General consensus is that meetings should always be scheduled on the third weekend of the month, to avoid confusion.  The next meeting (October) will be on the 19th at Jendriska's house.  The November meeting will be on either November 15th or 16th at Diachbha's house.   The November meeting is traditionally the St. Katherine's Day dessert revel.   Ellencwen will host the December meeting on either December 20th or 21st.
A friend of Ceinwyn's would like to learn tabletweaving;  another friend may be willing to give a talk about Scandinavian tabletweaving.
Guild members suggested tabletweaving, twining, netting, fingerlooping, and sprang for future guild programs.   Diachbha offered to teach a class in January.
Gwyntarian is holding an event on 10/18 at Craftsman Park;  an Alderford event is coming up in the near future (date?).
Fred and George (lambs) and the chickens are still looking for a home.   See Ellencwen for details.
The Munroe Falls Historical Days demo is Sunday, September 21st, from 2-4.   Please see Ceinwyn to RSVP; Ellencwen, Demelza, Branwyn, Emma, and Ceinwyn are signed up to attend.  Historical costume is optional, but the demo focuses on life in the 1840's.
August meeting Ceinwyn hosted the annual Post-Pennsic Cookout and Pity Party, so no guild meeting was held.
