October 2003 Weavers Guild Meeting
October 19th 5:00 at Jendriska's house in South Farmington

Member Reports  
Demelza Demonstrated marbling at the Stow Historical Days demo. Attended a number of workshops, including one where got to spin on many different drop spindles.
Ceinwyn Spun up silk at the Stow Historical Days demo. Made bobbin lace. Knitted scarves and shawls.
Emma Knitted one vest and finished another. Attended an exotic fiber workshop and spun camel, bison, cashgora (still allergic), soy silk, corn silk, bamboo, angora, and faux cashmere (nylon). Attended a spindle class where got to try all sorts of drop spindles. Bought some little, bitty weaving cards. Made period bobbin lace (nearly enough to edge a coif). Lucetted some cord. Reviewed finger-loop braiding.
Ellencwen Worked on weaving the guild tartan. Finished spinning wool from Ramesh the sheep. Started spinning wool from Emma the sheep. Spun "soy silk." Re-plyed some angora yarn.
Hathewisse Wove many pieces to sell at a church bazaar.
Miscellania
 
The St. Catherine's Day dessert revel will be held at Diachbha's house in Kent. The guild needs to contact her to finalize a time and date. Ceinwyn offered her house as a backup meeting site. Please bring current projects to show and work on.
Septebmer meeting No minutes present. The director of the Stow Historical Society was very happy with the guild's presence at the Stow Historical Days event. The Stow Sentry published an article and pictures featuring the guild. In other old business, the group discussed the project to weave the guild tartan.
