Photos from the April 2003 meeting:
Natural colors of fleece:  white from April (Ellencwen's Horned Dorset sheep), grey from Emma (April's mother), and black from Polly, a Finn sheep belonging to Judy. Ellencwen's spinning and carding (right) and Ceinwyn's carding (left) for the guild tartan project.
Weft-faced belts woven by Branwyn using perle cotton warp and wool weft. Ellencwen dyed Border Leicester fleece using leftover Easter egg dyes.
The cock of the walk. Ellencwen's fowls (note the peacock on the left and the mallard ducks on the right).
Chicks keeping warm in the incubator. Ellencwen rewarped the big loom in the barn, adding floating selvedges.   The warp and weft were spun from "Brady Lake mystery wool"  using a long draw.
Guild members admire the triplets (all boys).   The ewe was a boarder in Ellencwen's barn; the offspring are a Finn, Horned Dorset, and Border Leicester cross. April the sheep is expecting her first lambs any day now.
